17th November 2017

On the 15th November 2017 a Special General Meeting (in conjunction with a general meeting) was held to vote on two motions that were raised at our AGM that required a member vote for the motion to be passed.

The first motion was for Paul McNamara to become a life member of the club. The nomination was made in recognition of Paul’s 23years of continued membership with the club with the past 15 years as the Club’s handicapper. We are pleased to announce that motion was passed with a greater than 75% majority voting in favour of the motion. Congratulations to Paul on this well-deserved achievement.

The second motion that was voted on last night was the changing of the Club’s name from Kooragang Open Cycling club to Newcastle Cycling Club. The motion required a member vote of greater than 75% to pass. We are pleased to announce that the motion was passed successfully with a greater than 75% majority voting in favour of the motion.

The executive will work through the process undertaking all the necessary legalities associated with the change, the new club racing kits and online presence. We will keep you posted of the changes however we hope to have all things concluded for an official launch before the end of the year.

Many thanks to all that participated in the voting and those that attended last night’s meeting and welcome to Newcastle Cycling Club.
